    Overall Opinion:

I’m so extremely disappointed after using Physician’s Choice Women’s Probiotic.

It’s so bad that I gave it the lowest rating possible…1 out of 5 stars.

    Yes…it was that bad!

It’s such a missed opportunity too, because it tried to combine probiotics with ingredients that help support the vagina and urinary tract.

I’m all for combo supplements for women but this definitely didn’t play the part.

I have so many issues with this probiotic and it just seemed to be a gaggle of red flags during the whole process.

First and foremost, I got the absolute worst side effects from this probiotic.

It went beyond the normal symptoms, too.

I had really bad belly pain, back pain, bladder pain, gas, bloating, and irregularity.

I did some extra research and learned that many other women had the same type of reactions as I did. :(

The whole brand seems very sales-y and off putting.  On their website it only has 2 reviews and both are 5 stars.  And then if you bounce over to Amazon, it has over 1,100 reviews and 85% being 5 stars.

It just seems very fishy and the reviews appear fake.

Whereas the 1 star reviews seem more authentic and resemble the experience I had with this probiotic.

Another red flag is the fact that the ingredients don’t line up.

There are varying ingredients listed on the bottle, box, and on the website.

    Nothing is cohesive!

The website also has quite a few spelling errors, which is odd and seems sloppy and unprofessional.

The site is also sales-y and they bombard you with pop ups, sign up offers, etc.

I’m so disappointed with this product.  Please be careful if you decide to try it.

But I highly suggest you pass on this entire product and company entirely.

It’s a whole big YIKES in my opinion!  :(

    The Details:

    Ingredients/Strain Profile

Each capsule of Physician’s Choice Women’s Probiotic has 50 billion CFU and 7 probiotic strains.

One strain to note is Lactobacillus plantarum.  This strain is thought to act as a balancer, helping to balance the good and bad bacteria in your gut.

It’s also supposed to help balance your bowel activity and make you more regular.

Lactobacillus plantarum is believed to regulate the amount of foreign material that enters your gut by acting as a bodyguard for the cells in your stomach wall.

Another beneficial probiotic included is Lactobacillus paracasei.  This strain is supposed to protect your digestive tract from potentially harmful bacteria.

This strain goes to work inside your intestinal tract to help support a healthy immune system.

It further helps the immune system by aiding in the production of T-helper cells, which are the cells that help regulate your immune response.

Lactobacillus paracasei is also thought to secrete protective antibodies that help boost your intestine’s immunity to harmful bacteria.

This probiotic supplement also has an organic prebiotic fiber blend including Jerusalem Artichoke Root and Fibergum Bio® Gum from the acacia tree.

Jerusalem Artichoke Root is a type of sunflower that helps encourage the growth of gut-friendly bacteria.

Fibergum Bio® Gum is a patent-pending dietary fiber that comes from the acacia tree.  This ingredient also helps nourish healthy bacteria in the gut and may help strengthen the gut lining by restoring the cells along your digestive tract.

This probiotic includes some additional ingredients that aren’t usually in probiotic supplements including D-Mannose powder and Cranberry Extract.

These 2 ingredients are used to help treat urinary tract infections (UTIs) caused by E. coli bacteria.

They’re believed to work because they attach themselves to E. coli bacteria and prevents the bacteria from attaching to the walls of the urinary tract.

    Allergy Concerns

There aren’t any major allergy concerns I can find with this probiotic.

But there’s definitely something that didn’t agree with me in the ingredients (see below in the “Side Effects” section).

The bottle says these capsules contain NO: soy, gluten, milk, egg, wheat, GMOs, peanuts, or shellfish.

It’s also free of color additives, binders, and preservatives.

This product does contain some ingredients that aren’t usually in probiotics, which may have lead to the side effects, but I’m not positive.

It has Jerusalem Artichoke Root, FibregumTM Bio, D-Mannose, and cranberry extract.

It may or may not have chicory root extract.  It says the product contains it online but I can’t find it listed on the actual bottle or box.

I don’t like that this is contradictory.

It also has differing ingredients on the box and on the actual bottle, another uncomfortable red flag!

On the physical bottle, it says the other ingredients include:  Maltodextrin, Vegetable Capsule (Hypromellose, Gellum gum and water), L-Leucine.

On the box, it says the other ingredients contain:  Maltodextrin, Hydroxylpropyl Methylcellulose (Vegetable Capsule), Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT).

    Price/Value

I bought this on their website for $24.19.

It says it’s normally $34.89 and was discounted to $24.19, but I have a feeling it’s usually always the discounted price.

    Regardless, you get a 30 capsules and it’s a 1-month supply.

It works out to 81 cents per day to take these.

They try and get you to subscribe and save 15% ($20.56 total) plus free shipping.

They also have a pop up offer on their website that gives you 10% off if you sign up with your email.

I got a sales-y vibe on their page because 2 more pop ups came up a minute or two after the first one.

I’m not a fan of this probiotic in the least, so I don’t think it’s a good value whatsoever.

    Pass on buying this one!

    Side Effects

Holy moly, this probiotic gave me the worst side effects.

I thought it was just bad period cramps but then I realized it was this product.

I had been taking it for 2-3 weeks before putting two and two together.

YIKES!  I’m so concerned with how painful these side effects were.

I had really painful lower belly pain and pressure, which is also associated with bladder pain.

I had gas and bloating and some lower back pain, too.

I looked online and saw that other women had similar side effects.

I have no idea what’s in here that causing such crazy side effects.

To top things off, I had really irregular bowel movements.

Ahh, I had such a horrible time taking these probiotics.  :(

    Guarantee

Thank goodness…Physician’s Choice gives their customers a guarantee.

They offer a 100% money back guarantee.

It’s a no questions asked refund policy.

If for any reason you’re not satisfied or feel that your product isn’t working, just contact them directly with your order number and product and they will refund you immediately.

I love when a company can stand behind the products they sell.
