Overall Opinion:

I feel like every time I found something I liked about Alacer Advanced Probiotic Complex, I’d immediately find something I didn’t like.

It was a constant battle of pros and cons.

After it was all said and done, I ended up giving this probiotic 2 out of 5 stars.

Let me take you through a quick highlight of the pros of this probiotic.

I really like the vegetarian capsules because they’re smaller than average and you only have to take 1 daily (with food).

I like the bottle it comes in, which is like an old school film canister with a pop off lid.

It’s a recyclable, aluminum tube with a plastic, moisture-absorbing lid that gives the optimal environment for the live cultures and protects it from water and oxygen.

You don’t have to refrigerate the bottle because it’s shelf stable.

I also like that they use a cold-formed probiotic matrix.  This matrix helps protect all the way through to the gut, where it’s dissolved and the live bacteria are released.

This is important because the key to probiotics is getting them safely to where they need to go!

They also use an acid-resistant capsule to help slow down the breaking down process after you swallow it.

So now let’s go over the cons of this probiotic.

I didn’t see much, if any, difference while taking this supplement.

I wish it had more diversity when it comes to probiotic strains.

I think it would make the overall effectiveness much better if it did.

They also use a ton of extra additives and chemicals in this supplement, which that’s something I’m not a fan of!

Also, the company doesn’t seem to offer any sort of money back or satisfaction guarantee. :(

So overall, I think I’d pass on this probiotic supplement next time.

The Details:

Ingredients/Strain Profile

In each capsule of Alacer Advanced Probiotic Complex, there are 5 billion CFUs and 4 probiotic strains.

I wish it had a more diversified range of probiotics because 4 aren’t very many.

Plus 2 of the strains are from the same species:  Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis Bi-07 and Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis BL-04.

Some studies show that Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis Bi-07 helps improve the activity of white blood cells and in turn aids the immune system and fighting off pathogens and harmful bacteria.

This probiotic also includes Lactobacillus acidophilus, which is a personal favorite of mine and a total powerhouse probiotic.

Studies suggest it helps with a wide variety of areas such as promoting gut health, reducing cholesterol, preventing diarrhea, improving IBS symptoms, aiding in weight loss, and preventing vaginal infections.

Allergy Concerns

There aren’t any specific allergy concerns listed on the package, website, or bottle of Alacer Advanced Probiotic Complex.

On their Amazon page it does say that the capsules are made from vegetarian materials and are gluten free and soy free.

A big problem I have with this probiotic is that it has a ton of added ingredients and chemicals (11 to be exact).

It has way more than the average probiotic and it even contains additives that I haven’t really seen before.

That’s a bit concerning since I’ve personally tried and tested hundreds of probiotics.

Here’s a list of all the other ingredients:  Dibasic Calcium Phosphate, Hypromellose, Maltodextrin, Microcrystalline Cellulose. Contains <2% of:  Dibasic Potassium Phosphate, Gellan Gum, Magnesium Stearate, Monobasic Potassium Phosphate, Sugar, Titanium Dioxide, Trehalose.

You can buy this on the Alacer website but it’s one of those companies that only sells on Amazon.

So the link takes you straight to their Amazon page.

On both pages, the price is the same.

It’s $19.99 for a 30 capsule bottle.

You just take 1 daily, so it works out to 66 cents per day to take.

This falls pretty much smack dab in the center of the average probiotic price range.

On the flip side, I still don’t think it’s a massively great value for the price.

Side Effects

I didn’t see any side effects while taking this particular probiotic.

It’s also not a super potent supplement.

Unfortunately, I didn’t see much of any positive effects, either.

So I didn’t experience much of anything either way.

The directions say to take it with food, don’t exceed the suggested dose (1 cap daily), and it’s only safe for adults (both men and women).

It also mentions that if you’re pregnant, nursing, or taking medication to consult your doctor before use.

I looked all over the Alacer website and couldn’t find any information on a guarantee.

I emailed their customer service account asking about this but I haven’t heard back from them yet.

They strictly sell their products through Amazon, but I can’t find any mention of a money back or satisfaction guarantee on there either.

So I don’t think they offer one and that’s a big disappointment for me. :(
